Meet Dr. Liccar

“Everything that happens, happens of necessity.” – Arthur Schopenhauer

As a person who likes to have things planned out ahead of time, life has continually showed me that everything that happens, happens of necessity, and this is exactly how I have ended up where I am in the chiropractic profession.

At the age of 16 I started experiencing low back pain while pitching for the high school softball team. I soon started seeing a local chiropractor and quickly fell in love with the profession and the health philosophy that chiropractic was born from. After being born and raised in Bloomington-Normal and graduating from Normal Community West High School I was ready to set off on my adventure to fulfill my dream of becoming a chiropractor.

I attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois where I obtained my Bachelors in Science degree in Biology. Also, while attending undergrad, I met and fell in love with my, now husband. During the summer after graduation, I was engaged and moved down to Atlanta, Georgia where I attended Chiropractic School.

While living in Georgia, I attended Life University and obtained my Doctorate in Chiropractic, got married, and added two dogs to our family; a labradoodle and a schnoodle! While in chiropractic school I also fell in love with working with the pediatric and pregnant population and I am currently working towards CACCP through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) to specialize, further, in working with these populations.

After chiropractic school our family returned to Bloomington-Normal where we were blessed by the birth of our daughter. My pregnancy with my daughter went the exact opposite of what I had planned for my first pregnancy and birth experience. At the end of my pregnancy I struggled with complications that led me to have my daughter a month and a half early. We spent a month in the NICU with her after which we were finally able to come home as a family. This experience led me down the path of fertility and preconception work, which I have not only incorporated into my life as we prepared to grow our family in the future, but I have also brought it into my practice as well! The incorporation of this protocol led to a much healthier second pregnancy and the birth of our son!

I am excited to help empower and grow healthy families in Bloomington-Normal. I love this community and I am honored that I am able to serve the families here and help create a healthier community. Everything that has happened in my life has happened of necessity to lead me right here to this profession, this specialty, and this town.
